My hunger is not for sustenance It’s the hunger to cease That niggling feeling of boredom Yet inevitably whiling the hours away. As nations coalesce over monetary crises And thousands taste the bitterness of poverty, Just contrast the first world with the third - Does it bring lasting comfort? The incessant drive of industry, coddled by bureaucracy. What a sheltered existence comparatively to some of humanity. Never would I entertain a role reversal, too content with complacency.. Ignoring all the things I have that they never will. Obsessively considering first world issues Enveloping self absorption, blinding self pity, Perspective doesn’t get much of a chance. A species transposed into indignant pissants.

Strange lands Your life in stranger’s hands But it's more than your own now You’re too selfish to think about it There’s no second coming, it’s all such a waste Your destiny is flawed Regain your focus Put faith in what's real Take control of your existence Or is it planned out by a voice in your head? You’ll never know your own mind Delusion, you’re so confused and I can't escape it These walls will confine. With self-obsession and blind devotion you’ll get nowhere (you’re going nowhere) So narrow-minded and adrift inside passages of scriptures (you’re contradicting) Brainwashed. I’ll never understand Too much water under the bridge now. There is no turning back. You’ve left your family behind you Confused and in the dark Your lies may tempt them away Doctrine of scorn leading astray I’ll never understand

With each glance, it’s the same despite the years Averted gaze as you walk away The reality so hard to bare - Nothing fucking matters. Panic grips with pins and needles, could this be the nadir? Another wreck of a man, born of a wreck of a man Who shunned it all, now shut away from the world. Reverrent through nurture, Commanded by fear. What is and was are trivial Life is indiscriminate Not conscious, no conscience. Bereft of emotion, devoid of thought. Always knowing, we are waiting For a universal truth of life, For that last thought. Always knowing, we are waiting For that last thought.
